Florals and Abstracts

I love the the way this feminine ruffle floral Collective Concepts dress looks paired with this abstract hand-painted vintage belt by Little Ocean.  This pairing is so easy and wearable and versatile.  I would wear this with oxfords, boots, or sandals...depending on my mood of course!

Trolley Nite Friday May 27th

Hello & Happy Monday!  This Friday May 27th is the South Main Historic Arts District Trolley Nite!  Trolley Nite is the last Friday of every month from 6-9 p.m.  The event is FREE to everyone!  This month's theme is CARNIVAL!  There will be street performers such as magicians, henna artists, and side show acts, as well as face painters and artisans, throughout the district.  You can also vote for a Taster's Choice Award between two South Main neighbors competing in an outdoor cook-off.  This Trolley Night will also be sponsoring the American Red Cross' Mid South Chapter in an effort to help those displaced by the recent flooding.  Come out for a great time and drop in all of the shops and galleries along the way.

Oh, and also scheduled this Friday nite on South Main is the annual Zombie March!

Lots going on...Let the good times roll!!!

Synergy Clothing 100% Organic

We are drooling here at H+L over this oh so soft navy and white striped belted dress by Synergy.  Synergy was created in 1995 by Kate Fisher.  The garments are handmade in Nepal with sustainable organic cotton from India and dyed with low impact dye.  The fabric makes each piece so soft and wearable. What a great combo, right - to have comfort and cuteness all in one!

People Like Art is here!

I am super ecstatic to bring PEOPLE LIKE ART to Memphis!  Designed by Shannon Lea of Nashville, TN, PLA "started in November of 2010 and focuses on women’s handpainted tops and dresses.  Each new batch of garments takes inspiration from visual art whether it be a particular painting, art movement, or art technique.  PLA focuses on simple silhouettes with fun patterns that make each garment feel special and unique."  Shannon's line has been pictured in Lookbook Magazine and Nashville Scene (see pics).  Each piece is one-of-a-kind so you are sure to find one to fit your style!
